Training Opportunity

Do you have a heart for those with special needs?

Do you have skills in teaching?

Do you have a background in speech therapy,
                    autism, Asperger's or Cerebral Palsy?

Would you consider volunteering in China?

Overview
Caring For China is looking for volunteers who would consider spending several weeks training those who will provide relief services to those with special needs in China.

Details
Caring For China is looking for knowledgeable volunteers to spend several weeks training in the areas of hearing impairment, the basics of speech therapy (knowledge of Chinese language would be important to teach this course), autism and Asperger's, and Cerebral Palsy.

The aim of the course is to train teaching assistants for special needs education. Although there are areas of overlap between education and health, it is primarily a course in education.

Those selected to receive training are required to guarantee that they will remain with Caring For China for a minimum of 1 year on completion of training if a post is offered to them. Caring For China will award a certificate of achievement to trainees who complete the course to a satisfactory standard.

All overseas volunteers and workers with our organization are self-supporting and draw no income from the work.

Please contact a Caring For China Coordinator if you are interested and would like additional information.

If interested, please complete either a Short-Term or Longer-Term application form:

Visual Impairment Specialist: A Unique Opportunity to Serve

A woman in her mid-twenties at one of the orphanages is severely visually impaired.  She has never been given the opportunity to learn life skills.  She is an absolutely lovely young woman, sweet, joyful, generous and gracious.  We would love to see her reach her full potential.  It would be wonderful if a visual impairment specialist could provide training for her.  Please contact a Caring For China Coordinator if you are interested and would like additional information.
